Misconduct Reporting
Hope Community Church desires to create a safe and Gospel-centered community where all involved are pursuing becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We uphold and encourage grievances to be handled according to God’s Word, first approaching the individual to work through an issue if possible, then bringing in others as appropriate. This policy is to provide a pathway of reporting for those impacted that ensures clarity and safety for all involved. HCC does not tolerate ethical misconduct, including sexual misconduct, harassment, spiritual abuse, or any other misconduct which undermines or violates any relationship of trust that includes the leaders of HCC. HCC is committed to preventing, investigating, and, when appropriate, taking disciplinary and other action in response to incidents of misconduct whether or not the incident appears to violate existing applicable laws.
To support this process, HCC requests that all alleged misconduct is promptly reported, whether orally or in writing to HCC’s Governance Team. Concerns can be shared with any Governance Team member, who will bring it to the remainder of the team. Alternatively, anyone may submit their concern via the “Submit a Concern” button below. If you would prefer anonymity, you may report your concerns via Converge North Central. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible due to the specific circumstances.
Reporters are protected against retaliatory actions resulting from reporting unethical conduct if a complaint is filed in good faith. Any reporter who feels that adverse action has been taken toward him/her due to reporting in good faith of an improper activity should report such actions to the Elder Team and/or Converge North Central. Any allegations that prove to have been made maliciously or knowingly to be false will be viewed as a serious offense.
This policy is intended to be used in conjunction with other conduct-related policies such as Child Abuse Prevention, Harassment, etc.
