I have been through a lot in my life; there’s been laughter, tears, joy, heartache, frustration, anxiety, happiness, gratefulness, and a bucketful of other emotions that I can’t even begin to describe. But, through it all, my blessed savior has been by my side, holding my hand and giving me comfort.
In order to keep this story short, I will only describe one of the most difficult challenges of my life:
I was born into a ‘typical’ family consisting of a mother, father, and brother. Shortly after I was born my mother was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer. She had an unfailing faith in Jesus and prayed that she would live long enough to be remembered by my brother and me. She was raised in a strong Catholic family but, at an early age, she began seeking the gospel herself and became born-again when she was in high school. Eventually, she brought all of her 5 siblings to Christ and, as the youngest and most timid child of her family, it was a struggle. However, it was a struggle that was laid on her heart by God and one she was passionate about pursuing. My beautiful and strong mother lived 7 years and my brother and I still remember her smiles, laughter, joy, and love of Jesus! She is such an inspiration to me and I strive to have that same unfailing faith in the Lord that she had.
