Because we aim to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, we believe the normal Christian life is one of constant growth and learning.  To help facilitate that, we offer a large variety of classes to help aid people in further developing their relationship with God.  These classes include in-depth studies of books of the Bible, practical daily Christian life, mentoring, spiritual disciplines, and countless others.  Click on the tabs below for current classes offered.

Discerning God’s Will: How to Make Wise Decisions

Fireside Room – Jon Neal

How should I use my summer?  What should I do after graduation?  Should I ask this person out?  Should I take this job?  Should I invest in this?  These are the questions we ask, and can often feel paralyzed by.  We just don’t know what to do!  We want to make the right choice that God would want us to make, but we just don’t know what that is!  Join us as we tackle this head-on, trying to train ourselves on how to make decisions, whether big or small!

Blessed in Order to Bless

Conference Room One – Seth Prince

Blessed in order to bless: a study of God’s plan to bless the world through His people.  In this class we want to explore the call placed on God’s people to be a blessing to the world. What does it look like for us to be a faithful presence in our world? How can we be agents of God’s Kingdom on this earth? How do our efforts sometimes actually hinder more than help? How did the early Church view itself in this regard? How can we practically make a dent in this city? All are invited to come and discuss these questions and more with us!

Fourth Quarter Classes Run March 25 – May 6

SHAPE

Wednesdays at 6:30pm, February 29 – April 11

We believe that God, by his Holy Spirit, has gifted every man and woman who is a follower of Jesus Christ with a special function to bless the whole body of believers – and we want our body at Hope to be functioning together at full capacity!  The SHAPE class helps followers of Christ explore and better understand the unique design that God has for each of us.  Throughout the class, participants are guided through a personal study of:

Spiritual Gifts,

Heart motivations,

Abilities and talents,

Personality traits and

Experiences in life.

Financial Stewardship

Wednesdays at 7:00pm, November 9 & 16

God owns everything.  Yet, he made us stewards of a lot of His possessions.  This class will help give you a foundation, helping you not only develop a mental frame to think about money from a God-honoring perspective, but also practical skills to help you manage and steward God’s resources well.

LDI, or the Leadership Development Institute, is Hope’s leadership development internship program.  Though the classes are designed specifically for our interns, we open them up to the church at large.  Space is limited however, and the classes do require a fee to cover basic curriculum costs.  Go here for a list of courses.
